Castiglion Fno Flag Wavers
We are proud to present you our traditional Italian show, an interesting and typical medieval performance that can be used to introduce an event, to entertain people, to show a particular aspect of the Tuscan Middle Ages.
Flag waving is a show really enjoying, it represents peace and happiness, because it originates from the ancient custom of flag-waving dating back to the 12th century when, throughout Europe and particularly in Italy, after a special event like the end of a war, the standard bearers of the town's military companies would celebrate such event by performing difficult exercises with their flags.
The waving of flags is accompanied by the sound of drums and clarions highlighting the ancient military origin. The musicians together with the flag-wavers and the historical costume parade (warriors, knights and noblewomen in fourteenth century costumes) animate the pageant that precedes the display. During the performances, the Court is the scenography, and Flag Wavers perform difficult exercises with rhythm and music of Musicians. The exercises can be executed by one single Flag Waver, by a couple of Flag Wavers, or by teams of Flag Wavers.
Our group is really famous and important, we have 20 years of international experience: we have been to all the continents with our show, from Australia to Peru, from Japan to Ethiopia, we had performances in all the European countries, and for many important events, like the FIFA Football World Cup 2002 in Korea, Columbus Day in New York, Grand Prix d'Amerique in Paris, UEFA Champions League Final Match in Rome, and so on.
