“Kramim”, Folk Dance Ensemble, is a dance group from Rishon Le-Zion, the city of great grapevines and wines, and the first established city in Israel, Zion, hence its name- Rishon Le Zion – First to Zion.

Kramim, was established (founded) in 1995 and was known by the name ”Karmei Rishon”. The group is composed of 7-10 couples, most of them are Univesity-Student.

Kramim has performed in numerous cultural activities, in its hometown, as well as throughout the country. It has also participated in folk dance festivals in Israel (Karmiel and the Jerusalem Fest.), as well as, overseas.

The group’s repertoire is both rich and colorful, and expresses the wealth and beauty of the Israeli culture that evolved with the arrival of Jewish immigrants from all over the world. The folk dances are distinct from each other in the same way as cultures are. Yet, over the years, the interaction between the various cultures has been expressed by means of unique choreographies, costumes and music. The uniqueness of Kramim group when it appears on stage, is the pace and tempo of the dancers that excite and draw the audience.

Sylvi Ne’eman is the Art Director & Choreographer of Kramim Folk Dance Ensemble. She is a graduate of the Dance Course at the College for Physical Education – Wingate, a graduate of the higher school for dancing “Bat Dor” in Tel-Aviv, an ex-dancer of various leading dance groups in Israel and a Choreographer of several local groups in Tel-Aviv and the central area.
