MOLDOVENEASCA Folk Dance Ensemble

Founded in 1974, the Folk Music and Dance Ensemble “Moldoveneasca”, Laureate of the national and international dance contests, has asserted itself as an authentic institution of taking over the task of propagation the beautiful and rich traditions, rituals and custom of the Moldovan people, assuming the noble task of being the representative of the Moldovan national art and culture.

The art promoted by Ensemble “Moldoveneasca” is fed by the oldest and best folk dances of the Romanian nation. During the past 34 years from its first performance, the ensemble “Moldoveneasca” has worked hardly and passionately to form a vast representative national folk art of the Moldovan land.

Over 2000 performances has been presented, and about 500 of which - abroad. The audience of the “Moldoveneasca” constitutes more than 1 Million spectators worldwide. During its activity, Ensemble “Moldoveneasca” had tours in more than 20 countries: all CIS countries, Germany, Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Bulgaria, Romania, Iraq, Canada, USA, India, Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, Algeria, Philippines, Sri-Lanka, etc.

Among “Moldoveneasca’s” performance successes can be mentioned the Golden Medal of the Youth World Festival in Havana, as well as Diplomas of Laureate of CIOFF International Folk Festivals held in different countries of the world: Canada, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, France, etc.

At the moment the “Moldoveneasca” Ensemble consists of 35 artists - dancers and musicians with the specialized higher education, capable to promote national choreographic and musical art.

Different art critics have the opinion that “each “Moldoveneasca” performance is a joyance poem”, “eyes and heart feast”, “a triumph of optimism”. Here are just some excerpts from assessments given to “Moldoveneasca”:
