1st International Folk Festival
" Interfolk in Russia"

FESTIVAL GOAL
International Folk Festival is to bring together performing folk groups from different countries of the world and from different cities of Russia. It is aimed at establishing cultural relations, presenting one’s country’s culture and getting to know other cultures of the world, thus mutually enriching cultures and contributing to international cultural cooperation. The Festival is meant to pass folk traditions on to the young generation in order to revive and further develop national cultures.

* Folk costumes’ workshops and fashion theatres
The Festival is also open to Russian and foreign museums as well as clubs and centres of folk art, both traditional and contemporary.

PARTICIPATION FEES
In order to enter the Festival, groups have to send the application form with the attached materials and book and pay their accommodation through the Organising Committee. There are no other payments.
In order to enter the Contest, groups have to send the application form and pay the following fees:
Groups under 12 participants – 50 euros
Groups over 12 participants – 100 euros.
CONTEST CATEGORIES
A – folk music performed in the classical way (choirs, ensembles; contemporary arrangements)
B – vocal groups
C – dance groups
D – instrumental groups
CONTEST PROGRAM
The contest has one round. Each contest participant is to present two compositions based on the folk art of any country with the maximum duration of 10 minutes. The contest is open to the public.
AWARDS
Each group participating in the contest receives a diploma.
Each jury nominates a winner, thus there are three awards:
* 15,000 ruble prize to the winner chosen by the professional jury;
* Golden Diploma;
* Award of the audience appreciation to the winner chosen by the public jury.
Apart from the official awards, there may be special awards of organizers and sponsors of the Festival.
