The legend of beauty of Bosra has spread around the world since the Roman times,through the rule of Emperor Philipe the Arab, to the first Christian times, to the times when Prophet Mohammad met priest called Bahira,and the legend is kept thanks to the great amphitheater that the town has.
The Bosra amphitheater considered one of the most beautiful Roman amphitheaters in the world, which has hosted various Cultural and Folklore festivals.
Bosra town situated in Daraa Municipality, around 140 kilometres far from the capital Damascus.
The famous Bosra International Festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture and has celebrated its 19th edition in 2007. Since then the festival was organized once in two years, but due to increased tourism and large attendance, the Ministry announced its will to organize the festival on yearly bases.This was greeted with cheers by all the groups that have applied for this festival and waiting for their turn to participate!
The festival invites usually 10 groups from Europe and Asia and 10 other groups from Syria and various Arabic countries.
With our help and assistance many groups from EU, UK , Russian Federation and Asia have take part in this festival.
The festival offers good hotel accommodation, in Damascus it is normally Damascus International hotel( 4 star) in the heart of Damascus city center,or Venezia, which is also 4 star as well ( 10 meters down the Bahtha street),
In Bosra all the groups staying in Bosra Cham hotel ( belongs to Cham Hotels chain and considered 5 star)
In Aleppo, if some groups have their concerts there is Hotel Planet ( 4 star) which is famous with it wonderful food.
The festival is taking place in ceveral cities of Syria,Damascus as arraval and departure main city was holding its concerts for the groups in Azem palace, but last year that was under restauration works, so the groups performed in Damascus fairgrounds, during the largest in the country - Damascus International Fair.
In Aleppo, in the cultural hall of the city, in Latakia in Cultural center named after late Hafez al Assad, in Palmyra - in the ancient city amphitheater.
But the main concert, which is also transmitted by the Syrian TV, is the concert in Bosra amphitheater.
Last year attendance was hight, and there were days that amphitheater hosted more then 18000 visitors. All the groups were telling me how stunning that was to dance on that scene for so many people! Unforgettable experience indeed!
The festival organizers offer as well 3 times per day food, usually in the same hotels where you stay, which mean food of a very good quality.
Internal transportation from the airport till your departure. Comfortable cauches will be taking around the country.
Visa for all the participants is free of charge, when you have official invitation, you will get the details information from me, what to do next to obtain them in the Syrian embassy in your country or the consulate responsible for your country as well. All the details on this regard, you will get after the invitation issued by the Ministry of Culture
THe groups should pay their air transportation costs, or if they come with bus, then the costs of arriving to any Syrian border punkt.
Usually the groups combine the participation with some tourist visits, taking opportunity of their trip.
Syria is a marvelous country. It is so interesting that one week is less then enought to visit even "main" tourist attractive sites. BUT, as the groups having only 2 or maximum 3 concerts, with duration of 30 min each, all the day till the evening they are free and they use their free time to make visits to the sites that are close to where they stay, or they make visit while in the way to another town.
Usually before departure the groups receive from me their program including tourist trips.
