Folk-show group “Koleso” (artistic-director Elena Maslova) have been entertaining Russian audiences for many years with their unique interpretation of Russian folk music and dance. Their performances combine professional vocals, live music, acting and movement. The actors of the group not only sing a song and perform, they literally inhabit the stage, also even involve the public in some of the action.
“Koleso” (which means “Wheel” in English) regularly tours their work both in and around Russia. At the Edinburgh Fringe 2006 they drew sell-out audiences, immediately attracting attention of the public and mass-media alike with their distinctive style.
Last year we came back for the full festival run. It was a great experience and we hope to be there this year. We had 4 star reviews: "This is a delightful show for all the family. It is a veritable feast of everything enjoyable in traditional Russian music and dance.The richness of the vocal ability of the cast is matched by their grace in dance. The pace of the show is fast with very skilful and well-managed changes of mood throughout."
We are ready to make a tour around the World, so, we could introduce to the audience our different programmes. We have educational performances for students and kids, we have entertainment musical programmes which could be interesting for the young and middle-age people. Also there is a special Christmas show which is absolutely gorgeous and bright. This one can be a real gift for the future holidays.
